What we do

We achieve your climate targets and more

Energy Management

Energy is our constant companion. It is generated and consumed again, by us. Energy includes not only its sustainable generation, but also the efficient use of it. And this is our focus. Whether in buildings or in processes, we ensure energy is not wasted but used (more) efficiently.

And when we talk about energy, we don't just mean electricity – also heat and cold. With our approach, we show you how to reduce your energy consumption in the entire system.

What we do for you

We’ll help you optimize your processes for production and infrastructure systems and building services equipment. You could even say we have a passion for optimizing. Every process has a few areas we can tweak. We view your processes, equipment and organization as a triangle. Our goal is to keep each angle the same size. We do this by changing the relevant process parameters and identifying the impact on the other angles. The result is profitable, efficient systems that have a much smaller environmental footprint.

Processes

When we change manufacturing or business processes, we improve the performance of equipment and organizations.

A product’s chemical or biotechnological manufacturing process performs in a specific way in equipment and organizations and has a corresponding impact. We can alter this impact through chemical and physical means. A thorough analysis of existing process data and a design of experiments (DoE) approach allow us to carry out the optimization process in a targeted manner. For example, we can change the reaction conditions, adjust the parameters, introduce new unit operations or change existing unit operations, or use modified raw materials. Manufacturing is not the only area with processes that can be optimized. Daily work processes – both operational and strategic – can be optimized as well.

Equipment

Three out of four plants are no longer used for their original purpose after five to ten years, and as a result they are no longer efficient.

Once the requirements for optimized processes have been defined, the technology must be adapted accordingly. We define the appropriate measures, support their implementation and then check their impact. Safety, cost-effectiveness and sustainability are the drivers of this step. We can also improve the efficiency of a process or organization by making optimal use of existing equipment.

Organization

Your employees are part of the optimization process as well. This only makes sense since they’re directly affected by the changes that are made to processes or equipment. For this reason, change management is important.

A company’s structure, the number of employees, its corporate culture, processes – all of an organization’s hard and soft factors are crucial to creating lasting change. Employees influence the efficiency of processes and equipment in various ways. They must therefore be included and supported in the optimization process from the outset. This is the only way to change the way they think.

Our Conviction

Every process has optimization potential – we exploit this potential fully

Our focus in your industry

We specialize in production systems (including processes and operations), infrastructure systems and building services equipment for the chemical/biotechnology industry. To ensure the success of a process, we review factors ranging from safety, environment, chemistry, physics, automation, engineering, process technology, quality testing and assurance to strategy, logistics, the supply chain, suppliers and customers.

This is particularly true for process optimization, the operation of plants, energy efficiency and the reduction of greenhouse gases such as CO2, as well as sustainability, ecological considerations and waste.
